Bekim: Production Engineer and passionate cook

Back to overview page

Bekim is a Production Engineer at HSE. Find out why his zest for flavor almost took his career in an entirely different direction.

What do you do at HSE?

At HSE•AG, I work enthusiastically at the interface between product development and production. My main task is to combine the aspects of product development with product-specific requirements so that our products can be manufactured efficiently and cost-effectively. This is a fascinating challenge and I face it with passion and commitment to ensure our products meet the highest standards and inspire our customers.

What’s your background?

To deepen my knowledge and expand my skills, I successfully completed my postgraduate studies in business administration. This was after studying mechanical engineering and gaining a few years of professional experience. Over the last seven years, I have acquired extensive experience in manufacturing engineering at a MedTech company.

My technical and business background enables me to view complex problems holistically and find innovative solutions that are both technically and economically convincing.

What’s your motivation?
My motivation is to continuously contribute to the projects so that, first and foremost, the final product and not just the project itself is a success. I want to help create innovative, high-quality products that offer our customers real added value. The entire path to the goal fascinates me. I love to take on challenges, find creative solutions and, ultimately, to see how our service generates something special.

Is the role all that you imagined it would be?
The role doesn’t just meet my expectations, it actually exceeds them. I appreciate the freedom because it allows me to fully develop my skills and also contribute and implement my ideas. At HSE•AG, no-one really checks up on you. Instead, you have the opportunity to work relatively freely. I am even expected to contribute my creative skills.

An interesting challenge is that industrialization takes place at the customer's site and not here in-house. However, this diversity is really fascinating, as it can vary from customer to customer. This gives me the opportunity to work in a variety of environments and to continue to grow personally and professionally.

What do you like about HSE?
What I appreciate most about HSE is the freedom I have to organize my workday as I see fit. The working environment is excellent and is characterized by a strong team spirit and an appreciative atmosphere. The expertise of each individual is highly valued and we work together as a team. It’s inspiring to see the right people in the right jobs. Everyone knows exactly what they need to do and they approach their tasks competently and enthusiastically.

What do most people not know about you?
Something that most people don't know about me is that cooking is one of my passions. I not only enjoy cooking for myself and my family at home, but also for my friends. I actually wanted to learn to be a chef, but the opportunity didn't arise. Nevertheless, cooking is still something that I enjoy doing and gives me a lot of pleasure.

What trends should we keep an eye on?
We should definitely keep an eye on artificial intelligence (AI). It’s becoming even more important, not only in the private sphere but also in business. AI provides great support for a wide variety of tasks, for example when generating idea proposals. It can also help to show alternative manufacturing and assembly processes. The use of AI-supported processes allows you to come up with ideas that you might not have thought of at first.
