Lukas: Systems Engineer who strikes a chord

Lukas is a Systems Engineer at HSE.

In this interview he explains how he enjoys two passions as a hybrid professional and rocks out in his free time.

What do you do at HSE?

Lukas: As a Systems Engineer, I coordinate the work of the various specialist disciplines to make sure that we develop an optimal system. My main tasks include concept creation, system analysis, and management of requirements. Plus, I often use my technical skills and expertise to contribute directly to the success of the project.

What’s your background?

Lukas: I studied life sciences and then completed a doctorate in micro- and nanotechnology at a technical university. I have always done what interested me the most and would describe myself as a hybrid professional in the fields of life sciences and engineering.

What’s your motivation?

Lukas: What really motivates me is when I can use my creativity and know-how to drive the development of a new product so that it can solve real problems.

Is the role all that you imagined it would be?

Lukas: Yes. I had a pretty good idea of what it would be like to work as a Systems Engineer. Developing automation solutions for the life science and diagnostic sectors was exactly what I had wanted to do for a long time.

What do you like about HSE?

Lukas: HSE offers a very dynamic environment with exciting projects and tasks. The initiative and independence of our employees, along with the flexibility with which we respond to complex challenges and our flat hierarchies, enable the best results for both our customers and employees.

What do most people not know about you?

Lukas: I'm passionate about music and a huge fan of heavy metal music. Actually, I play several instruments and I’m in a band.

Lukas: We should definitely watch personalized medicine and cell therapy.
